OnePlus 2 is now officially launched with a starting price of $329
After waiting for months for the next “flagship killer” smartphone from OnePlus, the company finally took the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone – the OnePlus 2.
OnePlus 2 has been the most awaited smartphone launch of this year, thanks to its predecessor which took the market by storm with its powerful specs and affordable price, and the company’s announcement of launching OnePlus 2 in VR environment.
After being subjected to numerous leaks, the specifications and design of the phone seems to be a decent upgrade over the OnePlus One, the company’s first smartphone.
The OnePlus 2 flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p display, which the company claims is the brightest display in the market. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4GB of RAM.
It comes with an improved 13 megapixel camera at the back with 1.3 micron sensor promising better low-light performance, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording support. There is also optical image stabilization (OIS) and laser auto focus.
Running on Oxygen OS, the phone comes with 64GB of internal storage and is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. As of connectivity, it supports Dual SIM, global 4G LTE on both SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
As promised by the company earlier, there is a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the phone. OnePlus has introduced a new slider button on the left, which the company calls “Alert Slider”. It lets you toggle between the notifications settings.
There is also a fingerprint scanner integrated in the home button which can store up to 5 user profiles and is the most advanced sensor out there, as per the company.
The phone looks more neat and premium as the company has decided not be include any branding or marking at the front of the phone. Also, the metal chassis gives the premium feel to the device, which it truly deserves.
OnePlus 2 will come with four StyleSwap Covers, including Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and Kevlar.
The phone will go on sale from August 11 in select countries, including India. Initially, it will be available through invite system. The 16 GB model with 3 GB RAM is priced at $329 while the 64 GB model with 4 GB RAM is priced at $389.
