OnePlus 2 – Things We Know So Far
OnePlus One was first announced in April 2014 and by then, very few people had heard about the company. If you are not following gadget news closely, you would have launched by hearing about the company.
But now, OnePlus has become a brand. It represent the true value for money. It’s first smartphone, the OnePlus One became one of the best smartphone of last year and is still pretty good.
Now, its time for the OnePlus Two. The company is going to unveil the successor of One, named as OnePlus 2 on 27th July 2015.
Through teasers and updates, the company has revealed few information and specifications of the OnePlus 2. Here is the list of things that we know so far.
Recently, OnePlus confirmed that the phone will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor. There were many reports about over-heating problems with S810 but the company has promised that the newer version of the chip won’t have overheating issues.
OnePlus One was launched with 3 GB RAM and now its time to take it a step forward. The OnePlus 2 will come with a 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Asus Zenfone 2 and Lenovo K8 are the only phones in the market with 4 GB RAM.
To ensure that you get enough juice to go through the day without plugging your phone, the company has decided to include a higher capacity battery. The phone will come with a 3,300 mAh battery.
For enhanced security, the company has opted to include a fingerprint sensor on the phone which will save five profile. This move is not surprising at all as most of the flagship phones are now coming with fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 2 will be joining LeTV’s Le 1, Le 1 Pro, and Le Max with the inclusion of USB Type-C port. It is reversible, faster, carries more power and is more versatile.
The company is going to make the oversize of the smartphone smaller than its predecessor. Even with the same 5.5 inch display, the physical size of the phone will be smaller.
Well, the exect pricing of the smartphone is not know, it is for sure that the phone will be priced under $450. OnePlus One was a major hit due to its low pricing. OnePlus 2 also seems to be priced lower considering the pricing of other flagship phones in the market.
The phone will be running OxygenOS (HydrogenOS in China) – it’s own forked version of Android AOSP ROM. The OnePlus One was running CyanogenMod 11S OS.
The phone will come in different variants based network capabilities depending on the regions. There will be two variants – one for US and another for Europe. Third variant is also speculated for China market but is not yet confirmed.

We also know that the phone will be available on an invite-only basis. Like OnePlus One, the company is again adopting its invite system for the initial sale of OnePlus 2.
These are the things that we know so far about the upcoming OnePlus 2. However, there are many more things that we don’t know, such as camera, display type and resolution, internal storage, build type, buttons, etc.
