If you compare it with other in-ear headphones, the housing is pretty big. They are made up of plastic which could have been of better quality. This does not mean that they are of bad quality. They are pretty good but could have been better.

The earpieces comes with an angled design which means that they will fit perfectly. The shell is lightweight, made of plastic, and the whole headset weights about just 13 grams.

The headset comes with memory wire. It basically holds its shape due to hard temper. There is also a remote placed on the cable, near the right earpiece. The remote hold three buttons and a micro USB charging port.

The joint between memory wire and the rest of the wire has a hard plastic shield piece and additional strain relief. There is also a rubber cable cinch on the back to make sure cable doesn’t dangle in the back of your neck.

The working of the headset is pretty simple. It is similar to other headsets out there. You have to hold the power button (center button) until you enter pairing mode. Once you are in pairing mode, select Sports-Fi X7 from the list of Bluetooth devices on your smartphone.

Once the headset is paired, it will get connect automatically every time you turn it ON, given that your phone’s Bluetooth is also ON at the same time.

The right earpiece holds a status indicator LED. When you keep it for charging, it will lit up in red color. Blue light suggests that it is ON and is connected with a device while the blinking blue light indicates that the headset is in paring mode.

The center button is a multi-function button. Its functions include power on & off, entering pairing mode, and as a play/pause button. It is also used to answer or reject a call. It also enables functions like mute/un-mute call and transfer call to handset.

The + button increase the volume and long-press changes the track. The – button lowers the volume and long press starts the track again.

The headset utilizes the 6mm micro dynamic drivers. The vocals are natural and the mid bass is controlled. However, due to the boosted sub-levels, the bass feels bit boomy.

It is forward in lower bass and as said earlier, the mid bass is controlled. The bass slam can impact the overall tuning to certain extent. The mid-range is natural and has slightly warmer tone.

It provides clear and detailed organic mids with a nice body in lower mids and smooth details in upper mids. It also has nice and clear treble without any sibilance or harshness.

In short – bass is good, mids are okay, and the highs are also there. Sound quality is a little bright, but not too distorted.

Battery and Range

The company claims that the headset provides 4 hours of music playback on a single charge. In our review, we found it to be true. When connected with an iOS or Android device, the battery indicator is also displayed in the notification tab.

Coming to the range of the headset, Although the company claims of 35 ft range, it provides over 30 ft range in open space, which is quite good. But, some occasional stuttering especially if you go from one room to another.

The Sport-Fi X7 has really good sound quality with good functionalities. The sweat proof feature makes it one of the best wireless headset for the workout.

If you’re in the market for Bluetooth sport headphones, the Sport-Fi X7 should be on your shortlist. It sounds great and costs less.
