Gionee launches Elife E8 and Marathon M5
Gionee, at an event in China, has officially launched two new smartphone – Elife E8, its flagship smartphone and Marathon M5 with dual batteries totalling to 6,020 mAh capacity.
The Elife E8 features a 6 inch screen with Quad-HD resolution (2560x1440p) and is powered by 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.
On the camera front, it comes with a 23.7 MP rear facing camera with real time looseless zoom, OIS, truetone LED flash and is capable of taking images of 100 MP resolution. It also features an 8 MP front facing camera.
Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1, the phone is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. The phone supports dual SIM and 4G connectivity.
The Marathon M5 comes with a mammoth 6020 mAh battery. It uses dual battery cell technology which consists of two 3010 mAh cells. It can also be used as a power bank for other smartphones.
It has a 5.5 inch 720p HD AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core MT6735 processor along with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
It also features a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front camera. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo UI.
The Elife E8 will go on sale from July 15 in China at 3999 yuan ($644), while the Marathon M5 will go on sale from June 25 at 2,299 yuan ($370). Currently, there is no word on the global availability.
