Earlier this year, Nokia marked its return into the tablet business with the launch of a new tablet running on Android OS, the Nokia N1. Now, the tablet will be available to purchase in China starting January 7.
The tablet features a 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, 8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera and runs on Android 5.0 with the company’s own Z Launcher on the top.
The Nokia N1 will cost $249 (Rs. 15,400), excluding taxes and will be available globally. The company is also running a contest in China where participants stand a chance to win 800 tickets and six VIP passes for the launch event on January 7th.
In fact, the Finnish company has some pretty elaborate plans in place for N1’s launch. As mentioned above, company is giving away 800 tickets and several VIP passes as a give away, thus indicating that the event will be a pretty large scale affair.
