Rumour : Apple’s 12″ Retina display powered MacBook Air to enter Production in Q1 next year
Apple might kick-off the mass production of its new 12-inch MacBook Air in the first quarter of 2015 as the company’s supply partners have accelerated component production for both products, says Digitimes.
According to Digitimes report, the 12-inch MacBook Air is likely to feature Intel’s Broadwell Core M processors, introduced this November. However, the new notebook is expected to be available in limited supply when it launches due to yield issues with components, and will be primarily manufactured by Quanta Computer.
The new 12-inch MacBook may be even more sleek than the current MacBook Air. It will reportedly feature “a new chassis design to reduce the device’s overall thickness and weight.” Earlier reports also suggested that new MacBook will come with a Retina display.
It is to be noted that the time period for the production of the new MacBook Air, as suggested by the report, coincides straight with the scheduled time for Apple Watch production. Apple hasn’t uttered a word, giving no authenticity to the rumours.
