Chinese smartphone vendor Meizu partners with MediaTek to launch sub-₹ 10,000 smartphones
Remember Meizu ? Well, if you don’t, it recently released the MX4 Pro smartphone at a hefty price tag of $410 with features like Retina Audio, octa-core processor, fingerprint scanner etc. The phone was launched on December 6 and has since got various critical acclaims.
Meizu has now reportedly partnered up with MediaTek to launch sub CNY 1000 (₹ 10,200 approx.) smartphones, in late December.
As per DigiTimes, the company is gearing up to launch two new models, one with a 5.0-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch, both being powered by MediaTek MT6752 64-bit 8-core processors. While the 5 inch model may cost CNY 799 (₹ 8,200 approx.), the 5.5 inch model will cost CNY 999 (₹ 10,200 approx.).
Earlier, company’s major focus has been to target the mid to high range segment, something which Chinese vendors aren’t really know for. Meizu has been using Samsung’s Exynos processors for its high-range phones like the Meizu MX4 Pro.
